Widening PAY GAP between men and women reports Diversity Council of Australia

Women, on average, according to the Diversity Council, earn 16% less than men in Australia, even though they make up almost 42% of the workforce.

One of the cons of paid parental leave is that it may affect the way some companies hire, potentially choosing a woman who is not of childbearing age. It could cause a much scarier GAP between the sexes. Still, the pay gap between the sexes is now higher than it was at the height of the women’s liberation movement, so something has to be done.
