Removing International Trade Barriers

Trade Minister Craig Emerson yesterday said the Gillard government was embarking on a new round of economic reform.

The Government was embarking on a new round of economic reform by removing regulatory obstacles to private business by tackling overlapping and contradictory commonwealth, state, territory and local government regulations that hampered productivity and competitiveness.

It came as Australia recorded a seasonally adjusted trade surplus of $2.3bn for August 2010. Read full article.
