Regulating Universities

Australia's leading universities is calling for more discussion about a proposed new industry regulator.

Legislation for the new Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) will be introduced into Federal Parliament in the next few weeks.

The agency would be an independent body with powers to regulate universities, monitor quality and set standards.
