Currency and Coverage in TimeBase Products

Wednesday 26 August 2015 @ 11.01 a.m.

At TimeBase, we're all about our currency, coverage and accuracy in our products - and we're upfront about what this means for everyone who relies on our LawOne and unique Point-in-Time Services.

Currency

Legislation at TimeBase is updated twice daily. We have established publisher only channels to all government sources of information in each jurisdiction so we can ensure accuracy, currency and coverage.

Our coverage includes:

  • New Bills and Bills Progress;
  • Draft Legislation;
  • New numbered Statutory Rules and Acts
  • Proclamations
  • Gazette notices
  • Full text rules and amendments; and
  • Links to explanatory materials and other extrinsic information helpful to interpreting legislation.

The currency date for all legislation is stated at the top of each full text consolidation. We take this date from the details we receive from each State Law Publisher matching their consolidation date. If the government publication has never been amended, we take the assent date (for Acts) or notification or registration details (for regulations).

Coverage and Accuracy

Because at TimeBase we know how hard it is to work out whether something you are researching or looking for is actually covered by the product, we have created comprehensive coverage tables included in all our products (in LawOne, on each jurisdiction homepage) and on our homepage.

Listed by type of material (Acts, Regulations, Bills, Drafts and Gazette Notices), the tables detail from what years coverage starts in TimeBase products and they are updated daily as new materials are added to the services.

You can also access these resources from our customer support page on the homepage along with many other useful resources such as our new Information Resource Centre.
