Monday 21 November 2016 @ 10.28 a.m.

The Energy and Resources Point-in-Time Service has just been updated to include new amendments from the Major Sports Facilities and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2016 (56 of 2016) (QLD) and the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2016 (196 of 2016) (QLD).

Act 56 of 2016

The objectives of the amendments are to:

  1. Amend the way in which tax is calculated under the Gaming Machine Act 1991 (the Gaming Machine Act) for clubs with additional premises.
  2. Amend the Keno Act 1996 (Keno Act) to provide that the keno licensee may enter into jackpot pooling arrangements with keno licensees in other jurisdictions.

Regulation 196 of 2016

The policy objective of the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2016 is to amend the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Regulation 2004 to:

  • adjust requirements for supplying fuel gas to better align with safety risks;
  • reduce vertical well accuracy requirements; and
  • update provisions which reference redundant and outdated documents.

The Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2016 also corrects a wrong section reference in the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Regulation 2004.

The amendments made by Act 56 of 2016 and Regulation 196 of 2016 were updated in the Point-in-Time Energy and Resources Service with a currency of 21 November 2016. (NB: Subscription required).
