The Social Security Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the Social Security (International Agreements) Amendment (Oriental Republic of Uruguay and Other Measures) Regulations 2026 (Cth).

Social Security (International Agreements) Amendment (Oriental Republic of Uruguay and Other Measures) Regulations 2026

These Regulations amend the Social Security (International Agreements) Act 1999 (Cth) (the Act) to: 

• add Schedule 34, setting out the terms of the Agreement on Social Security between Australia and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay;
• correct a minor administrative error in Schedule 33 containing the Agreement between Australia and the Republic of Serbia on Social Security; and
• insert the interpretative declaration text and Third Person Notes, exchanged between Australia and New Zealand, as Part C of Schedule 3 to the Act to clarify the interpretation of the Agreement on Social Security between the Government of Australia and the Government of New Zealand in relation to the meaning of the term “Australian resident” in Article 5(1) and how it interacts with subsection 7(2) of the Social Security Act 1991 (Cth).

These amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Social Security Service current to 15 September 2026. (NB: Subscription required).
