Christmas Day not a public holiday?

Christmas Day shift workers will not receive public holiday benefits this year in South Australia.

Unions have raised great concerns over Christmas Day not appearing in South Australia's declared public holiday listings.

Ged Kearney, president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) told ABC Adelaide's mornings program that the non-gazetting of the Saturday that Christmas Day falls on this year as a public holiday disadvantages workers that are outside of the Monday to Friday roster.
