Recenectly the  press in Perth ran a story of a “Six figure payout for WA executive who was demoted for being pregnant” or so recounts a recent article posted to Mondaq by Marque Lawyers. The article affirms that if an employee's remuneration remains the same but their responsabilities are diminished or their status is reduced it still really amounts to a demotion as a result of being pregnant. "Employers also need to comply with the “return to work guarantee” under the Fair Work Act or face a penalty up to $33,000..."
