Union calls off strikes, Qantas says

The Transport Workers Union has called off its nationwide industrial action scheduled for today and Wednesday, Qantas says.

The TWU had planned one-hour stoppages tomorrow at Brisbane and Melbourne airport (both beginning at 8am AEDT).

A three-hour stoppage had been planned for Sydney Airport on Wednesday has been called off, as were one-hour stoppages for Canberra and Cairns airports on the same day.

Qantas announced yesterday that the union had contacted the airline to say the industrial action had been called off.
