The Energy and Resources Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Amendment (Release of Documentary Information) Regulations 2025 (Cth), the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2025 (Cth), the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Legislation (Repeal and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2025 (Cth), the Environment Protection Reform Act 2025 (Cth) (Act No 68 of 2025); and the Regulatory Reform Omnibus Act 2025 (Cth) (Act No 73 of 2025).

Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Amendment (Release of Documentary Information) Regulations 2025

These Regulations amend the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2011 (Cth) to introduce an additional requirement to the disclosure of survey information. Under the Regulations, survey information can only be disclosed if the responsible Commonwealth Minister has made a notice that specifies that kind of survey information is appropriate to make publicly known, or the responsible Minister has, after considering the national interest, made a notice that specifies that survey information is appropriate to be made available to specific persons.

Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2025

These Regulations aim to ensure that operations in an offshore area are carried out in accordance with good oilfield practice and are compatible with the optimum long-term recovery of petroleum. The Regulations remake the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2011 (Cth) in substantially the same form with changes to provide consistency with current drafting practices, simplify language, renumber and restructure provisions to provide for ease of navigation, and remove duplicative processes.

Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Legislation (Repeal and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2025

These Regulations repeal the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2011 (Cth) and make consequential amendments to other regulations to support the commencement of the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2025 (Cth).

Act 68 of 2025

This Act makes numerous and significant amendments to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) (the EPBC Act) in response to the findings and core recommendations of the second Independent Review of the EPBC Act, led by Professor Graeme Samuel AC and delivered to the Australian Government in 2020.

Act 73 of 2025

This Act delivers regulatory reform by amending or repealing outdated administrative provisions, and supporting increased efficiency and better service delivery from a broad range of Commonwealth regulators and agencies. Through these changes to several Acts, including the Paid Parental Leave Act 2010 (Cth), the Act aims to reduce the regulatory burden on Australians and businesses, and boost productivity and economic growth across the Australian economy.

The new amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Energy and Resources Service current to 16 January 2026. (NB: Subscription required).
