Cases Now Fully Uploaded in LawOne

Monday 29 August 2016 @ 12.33 p.m.

Caselink is now available in LawOne, with over 65,000 cases extensively linked at both legislation and section level for customers of TimeBase.

What is Caselink?

Caselink is used throughout our LawOne and Point-in-Time specialist services to make the legislative content more useful. As such, the coverage is not exhaustive and TimeBase’s legally trained Australian editors choose what cases to cover based broadly on the following guidelines:

  1. Court Hierarchy;
  2. Doctrine of Precedent and Precedent value of case; and
  3. Non-reporting of costs based decisions, extension of time applications or sentencing applications unless of precedent value.

We monitor judgments from the High Court, the Federal Court, the Federal Circuit Court, the State Supreme Courts and State Supreme Courts of Appeal. In addition, we also monitor specialist publications and certain specialist tribunals eg Fair Work Commission, Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Takeovers Panel. For full coverage details, see our Currency and Coverage.

New Improvements to Caselink

Additionally, Cases can now be sorted by Year or Court and TimeBase has also included links to the court issued PDF's of every case where available.

Subscribers to LawOne can also gain access to ALR, CLR and FCR references where appropriate.

We are working on daily updates for our LawOne subscribers for cases content along with our three times daily updates for legislation content.
