Thursday 25 October 2018 @ 3.08 p.m.

LawOne now provides added functionality in the form of download and export to Excel capabilities for Custom Legislative Activity Reports. The additional feature gives users the freedom to do more with their reports; from providing the ability to utilise Excel suite functionality on reports, to making it easier to share and distribute reports between colleagues.

To use the download and export feature, simply create a new custom report or navigate to an existing report in LawOne. From there select the download and export icon located in the top right hand toolbar.

The report will download and can now be opened on your desktop in Excel. The custom reports are automatically converted into table format in Excel to allow for easy sorting and manipulation of the data. From here users can name, save and share reports via email attachment with colleagues.

Legislative Compliance: Tips for Best Practice

The addition of the report download and export to Excel feature allows for better utilisation of Custom Legislative Activity Reports when it comes to legislative compliance. TimeBase suggests the following best user practices when creating and using Alert Profiles in combination with Custom Legislative Activity Reports for legislative compliance.

  1. Start by creating a series of subject based Alert Profiles. Alert Profiles can be created, edited and viewed in the Law Tracker → Alerts section.

  2. When creating these profiles make sure you include relevant and helpful details in the name and description. For example, consider adding the last update date and your initials to the description.

  3. Set the alert frequency. We recommend using a combination of Weekly and Monthly for compliance reports.

  4. Don’t exclude ‘Repealed’ events from your profile. Keeping these included will be useful when running activity reports in past date ranges.

  5. Save your new profile creation and then continue to add legislation based on subject areas of interest. Keep in mind you can always add more legislation or subject areas later if you need to.

  6. Share your profile with other users in your Organisation who need to be alerted on these legislative changes.

  7. Now when you create custom activity reports based on your profile, using the download and export to excel function you can save, make notes and distribute via email with others.
