Consumer Products National Mandatory Reporting

National Mandatory Reporting for suppliers of consumer products will take effect from 1 January 2011 under the Trade Practices Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Act (No. 2) 2010.

ACCC has released its draft consultation document targeting suppliers to become aware of the new mandatory reporting law on any incidents that occur with a consumer good (or a product related to a service) it has supplied within Australia or Overseas. This national Australian Consumer Law is classified under the Trade Practices Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Act (No. 2) 2010.
