The A.C.T parliament purposed the Plastic Shopping Bags Ban Bill 2010 yesterday in hopes of making a cleaner and greener capital for Australia. The Bill aims too:

"The Bill aims to put in place arrangements to reduce the use of plastic bags
made from polyethylene through restricting supply of plastic bags at the point
of sale where the bag is provided to carry goods."

The Bill aims to make it an offence for any retail shop to offer plastic shopping bags to their customer free of charge.
