Western Australia Consumer Protection Commissioner has urged people not to be fooled by an international DNA testing kit scam.

At least 19 people across the country have reported receiving the kits in the mail, which purport to be from the legitimate company, DNA Technologies.

The kits arrive with a letter asking consumers to use and return them, along with their credit card details for a processing fee.

The Commissioner for Consumer Protection Anne Driscoll says the kits are a scam and people should bin them immediately.
