A recent article in ninemsn news has claims that policemen have turned away young people who come in seeking assistance for cyberbully. The article claims that Senator Nick Xenophon is backing a former policewoman Susan McLean who served for 27 years before resigning in protest in 2009.

She said a fear of ballooning statistics and the high cost of investigating these offences had seen police turn young victims away from stations. McLean claims when she tried to convince her superiors that policing of online bullying needed to be ramped up they refused, resulting in her resignation.

Do you think cyberbullying should be made a priority in law enforcement?
