NT Supermarket liquor licence suspended

A Katherine supermarket has had its liquor licence suspended for a day after it was found to have served a man who was drunk.

Staff at the Katherine 5-Star told the Licensing Commission the man was not showing signs of intoxication when he bought cask wine there in October.

The man recorded a blood alcohol reading of more than four times the legal driving limit.

The Licensing Commission said the store also breached its licence in 2008.

The commission imposed a one-day suspension.
