How do I create an alert profile in LawOne?
A legislative alert gives you the ability to track legislation from draft stage right through to Acts or Regulations and it also alerts you to bills as they progress through each stage of Parliament or as a new download is added.
Step 1: Select Create a New Alert Profile either through the Main Menu or Through the Menu at the top of LawOne
When creating a new alert profile, you must add the following components for the profile to be valid:
- Name the profile
- Add an Owner to the profile
- Add at least one valid email address
Note: Don’t be afraid to choose twice daily emails – you will only get alerted if something actually happens in your profile.
Remember to click "Create Profile" for the profile to be set up.
Step 2: Tracking Items or Subjects
The final step in the process is to pick what you would like to be alerted on.
You can either track specific items through the first link or track a specific subject area through the second link.
Note: It is often more useful to track a specific subject area as we have legally trained in house editors that update subjects for you. If you select a piece of legislation, you will need to manually update your profile if it is repealed.
