Corporations Point-in-Time Service Updates

Monday 18 June 2018 @ 8.56 a.m.

The Corporations Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the Treasury Laws Amendment (ASIC Governance) Act 2018 (Cth) (Act 42 of 2018) and the Corporations Amendment (Client Money Reporting Rules Enforcement Powers) Regulations 2018 (Cth).

Act 42 of 2018

This Act amends the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 ("the ASIC Act") to enable the Governor-General to appoint a second Deputy Chairperson of ASIC. Amending the ASIC Act to provide for two Deputy Chairpersons will assist ASIC in operating as an effective and efficient regulator. It will provide greater flexibility for the Commission to determine how it undertakes its oversight and other governance functions.

Corporations Amendment (Client Money Reporting Rules Enforcement Powers) Regulations 2018

These regulations authorise alternative enforcement mechanisms for the ASIC Client Money Reporting Rules 2017.

These amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Corporations Service current to 18 May 2018. (NB: subscription required).
