The GST Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the new principal regulations A New Tax System (Wine Equalisation Tax) Regulations 2019 (Cth) and A New Tax System (Luxury Car Tax) Regulations 2019 (Cth).

A New Tax System (Wine Equalisation Tax) Regulations 2019

The purpose of the A New Tax System (Wine Equalisation Tax) Regulations 2019 (Cth) (the New Regulations) is to remake and improve the operation of the A New Tax System (Wine Equalisation Tax) Regulations 2000 (Cth) (the Sunsetting Regulations) before they sunset.

The New Regulations largely remake and improve the Sunsetting Regulations by simplifying language and clarifying concepts. The key change to the Sunsetting Regulations is the adoption of modern drafting practices and the clarification of the tourist refund scheme processes. The change is not intended to affect the meaning or substantive operation of the provisions.
