Thursday 17 June 2021 @ 4.19 p.m.
The Social Security Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the Social Services and Other Legislation Amendment (Student Assistance and Other Measures) Act 2021 (Cth) (No 42 of 2021).
Act 42 of 2021
Schedules 1 and 2 of this Act amend various Acts for the purpose of making the Act
more consistent with the social security law in the areas of Tax File Number collection
and use, and information management. The proposed changes are needed to improve the
effective administration of the ABSTUDY and the Assistance of Isolated Children schemes,
which are each a ‘current special educational assistance scheme’ for the purpose of
the Student Assistance Act.
Schedule 3 makes technical amendments to social services legislation to confirm that
the definition of ‘social security law’ includes subordinate legislation.
These amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Social Security Service current to 17 June 2021. (NB: Subscription required).
