Intellectual Property Point-in-Time Updates

The Intellectual Property Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the Instruments Update (Autumn 2024) Regulations 2024 (Cth) and the Statute Law Amendment (Prescribed Forms) Regulations 2024 (Cth). 

Instruments Update (Autumn 2024) Regulations 2024

This instrument makes minor and technical amendments to various Commonwealth instruments, including the Trade Marks Regulations 1995 (Cth), in order to:

• update references in Commonwealth instruments to Northern Territory Acts, for consistency with Northern Territory citation practices; and
• correct technical errors that have occurred in instruments as a result of drafting and clerical mistakes.

The amendments aim to enhance usability, support interpretation and administration, and promote consistency across the Commonwealth statute book.

Statute Law Amendment (Prescribed Forms) Regulations 2024

This instrument makes minor consequential amendments to 22 regulations across the Commonwealth statute book in order to implement Schedule 1 of the Statute Law Amendment (Prescribed Forms and Other Updates) Act 2023 (Cth).

The regulations being amended include the Copyright Regulations 2017 (Cth), the Designs Regulations 2004 (Cth) and the Trade Marks Regulations 1995 (Cth).

These amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Intellectual Property Service current to 25 March 2024. (NB: Subscription required).
