The Crime Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the National Security Legislation Amendment (Comprehensive Review and Other Measures No. 3) Act 2024 (Cth) (Act 24 of 2024).

Act 24 of 2024

This Act aims to support and promote increased oversight of Australian intelligence agencies. The Act includes an amendment to the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth). The amendment inserts a reference to Section 92A of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979 (Cth) into paragraph 122.5(7)(a) of the Criminal Code. The effect of this item would be to limit the defence in paragraph 122.5(6) of the Criminal Code to secrecy offences in Division 122, to exclude communications and dealings with relevant information, if the communication or dealing would be an offence under Section 92A of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979 (Cth).

These amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Crime Service current to 30 May 2024. (NB: Subscription required).
