Social Security Point-in-Time Service Updates

The Social Security Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Amendment Act 2024 (Cth) (No. 27 of 2024) and the Social Services and Other Legislation Amendment (Military Invalidity Payments Means Testing) Act 2024 (Cth) (No. 30 of 2024). 

Act 27 of 2024

This Act primarily amends the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Act 1997 (Cth) to remove certain limiting words from sections 32B and 39B. The Act also makes related and technical amendments to other Acts, including to the Social Security Act 1991 (Cth). 

Act 30 of 2024

This Act amends the Social Security Act 1991 (Cth) and the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (Cth) to confirm the income support treatment of certain military invalidity pensions affected by the Full Federal Court decision in Commissioner of Taxation v Douglas [2020] FCAFC 220. 

These amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Social Security Service current to 30 May 2024. (NB: Subscription required).
