Northern Territory opposed to Uranium Mine

A Clayton UTZ article published today on Mondaq, has explored the decision of the Northern Territory Government to oppose a uranium mine at Angela Pamela, 20ks south of Alice Springs. This decision is however, up to the Federal Government.

Although the Northern Territory Government has signalled its opposition, ownership of uranium and therefore the establishment of the mine,  is with the Commonwealth under the Atomic Energy Act 1953 (Cth).
