Families of NSW asbestos victims will miss out on Compensation

The NSW Government has rejected the recommendations of the Law Reform Commission, deciding against paying "fair damages" to widows and families of asbestos disease victims.

NSW family members of asbestos victims will miss out on around half a million dollars in compensation, despite the fact that SA, Vic, and WA, have done the opposite. The State Government has been reported as saying that the compensation was rejected due to a potential breach with the manufacturer James Hardie.
