New Appointments for the AATA and FCCA Courts

In media releases announced on 5 August 2013, new appointments have been made to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AATA), the Federal Court (FCA) and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia (FCCA).

The appointments are outlined as follows:

  • Dr Nicholas Manetta as a Senior Member of the AATA - "Dr Nicholas Manetta has been a Managing Solicitor in the Administrative and Environment Section in the Crown Solicitor’s Office of South Australia since 2002 and was formerly an associate at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal."

  • Mr Darryl Rangiah QC as a member of the FCA - "Mr Darryl Rangiah QC has specialised in administrative law, native title, commercial and industrial law at the Bar. He is a member of the Federal Court’s Queensland Administrative Law and Native Title Committees and Vice President of the Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House."

  • Dr Melissa Perry QC as a member of the FCA - "Dr Melissa Perry QC’s areas of specialisation at the Bar have been native title, constitutional and administrative law. She is a current member of the Administrative Review Council, a Director and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law and a Squadron Leader with the Royal Australian Air Force Legal Specialist Reserves."

  • Ms Joanne Stewart as a member of the FCCA - "Ms Joanne Stewart has specialised in Hague Convention matters and Family Law at the Bar, including children’s matters, property and child support. She regularly accepts Legal Aid matters and acts as counsel for Independent Children’s Lawyers."
